Annyeong! This November 2018 I had a quick visit to Seoul with my cousin and my girl BFF. It was my second visit to the country and I felt the same attachment to their culture and tradition. Autumn is said to be the best season to visit in South Korea and sure it is. I love how the colors, brown, red, orange and yellow complement each other.

I listed 5 interesting things to do in South Korea specifically in Seoul and nearby places.

1. Wear Hanbok and Visit the Palaces

Hanbok is the traditional dress in South Korea which is usually worn during traditional occasions and festivities. Entrance fee to famous palaces like Gyeongbokgung Palace is free when wearing Hanbok.

2. Be challenged to Snap a Perfect Shot in Maple Tree Lane Without Photobombers

The famous Maple Tree Lane can be found in Nami Island. In any season, I guess this place is very beautiful. I am not good with photoshop so, imagine how many people are staying in the area taking photos as well. It is really challenging to get a solo photo along the lane of Maple trees. As is said in my IG post, timing is everything.

3. Catch a Glimpse of North Korea in Dora Observatory

We had the chance to peek through high-grade binoculars to look down into North Korea central city and the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). TBH, I had this strange feeling while we were on tour having in mind that we were that close to North Korea and any attempts of attack we can be the first target. Well, I am just paranoid, thank God, the tour went well.

4. Street Food Trip in Myeongdong Plus Shop ’til You Drop

NEVER leave the country without eating their street foods. It is a bit pricey but, I can say that every bite is totally worth it. Koreans are very creative when it comes to food preparation. My top picks are the cheese butter baked scallops, grilled octopus and the “buhok ni lola” candy. When it comes to shopping, most of the stores offer tax refund for purchases more than 30,000 won.

5. Dine in a K-BBQ Place

Have some authentic Korean dining experience! Samgyeopsal is the famous Korean dish which is similar to bacon strips but thicker and flavourful. The meat is neither marinated nor seasoned, it is cooked through a griller and eaten with different Korean side dishes like kimchi, soybean paste, and lettuce. It is best paired with Soju or their local beer.

This was my second visit to the country and the first was wayback 2014 during Spring season. I will definitely be back. ♥ My goal is to see the beauty of the country in four seasons. #RoadtoFourSeasons
