Bring the required and supporting documents on the scheduled interview which are basically based on your intention or purpose of visit, proof that will demonstrate strong ties to the country of residence and evidence of financial support to shoulder own expenses of travel or thru a guarantor, and other important documents.

Required Documents:

  • Passport valid for travel to USA which is valid at least 6 months before the intended travel period
  • Printed copy of appointment letter
  • DS-160 confirmation page
  • Proof of fee payment MRV or MRV receipt
  • One 2″x2″ photo
  • Old passports

Supporting Documents:

Since I am employed and supported my own trip, here is the list of additional documents I prepared. I made sure that everything I might say to the consul will be supported by any certificates or documents. This could be too much but it is better safe than sorry.

  • Latest copy of ITR (BIR-2316)
  • Bank statement and bank certificate
  • Certificate of employment, which includes position, date hired, compensation and approved leaves
  • Pay slip for the past three months
  • Travel Itinerary and/or explanation of planned trip
  • Copy or screenshot of hotel planned to stay and flight details planned to book (Do not buy tickets yet until you have the visa, this is not required)
  • Proof of properties, assets, and investments
  • Photocopy of relative’s proof of status (Green card, driver’s license, and student ID)
  • Proof of previous visit in United States (old visa, photos, and stamps)
  • Proof of previous travel in different countries (visa, photos, and stamps)

For students, bring student latest school records, transcript, and diploma.

Tip #1: Bring the original copy of documents as much as possible. Never falsify any documents to be presented to the consulate.
